Jersey-knit T-shirts were once commonly known as “Meriyasu shirts.” We analyzed the yarn used in vintage T-shirts from that era and have faithfully recreated it. By knitting the fabric tightly on traditional knitting machines, we achieve a richly textured fabric with depth and character.
This season’s Meriyasu T-shirt series carries on the authentic look and feel of the past while updating it for modern comfort.
The “Heavy” weight version offers a firm, structured feel, and becomes increasingly soft and comfortable against the skin with repeated wear.
Constructed with a tubular body for a seamless, comfortable fit. The sleeves and hem are finished with single stitching, while the neckline features a reinforced bound neckline construction for added durability.
